Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty (VPAA/DOF), the Experience Officer uses a highly strategic and inclusive lens to design and improve a range of experiences and related processes for faculty and students. The Experience Officer works to showcase the transformative impact of the Trinity Plus Curriculum and the incredible range of Trinity’s talented and dedicated faculty, including their role as lifelong mentors, with the goal of engaging constituents and fostering institutional pride.
Role and Responsibilities
The Experience Officer is a core member of the team in the Office of the VPAA/DOF. This new role will perform the following functions:
Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty (VPAA/DOF), the Experience Officer uses a highly strategic and inclusive lens to design and improve a range of experiences and related processes for faculty and students. The Experience Officer works to showcase the transformative impact of the Trinity Plus Curriculum and the incredible range of Trinity’s talented and dedicated faculty, including their role as lifelong mentors, with the goal of engaging constituents and fostering institutional pride.
Role and Responsibilities
The Experience Officer is a core member of the team in the Office of the VPAA/DOF. This new role will perform the following functions:
- Data-Informed Support. Coordinates data collection, usage, and visualization to support major academic planning and advance strategic outcomes within the division.
- Designing Experiences. Working closely with academic leadership and key stakeholders, identifies gaps in current processes and analyzes and recommends concrete improvements to an array of processes that shape both the everyday experiences of students and faculty and the college’s reputation, leading implementation efforts to completion.
- Strategic Communications. Drafts high-impact communications and messaging from the VPAA/DOF, positioning the college for success; designs and leads annual reporting efforts in Academic Affairs, attuned to both internal and external audiences; provides integrated guidance for academic websites and maintains the site of the Office of the VPAA/DOF.
- Assessment Planning. Supports academic assessment efforts, coordinating and integrating them into ongoing processes, planning, and reporting; relatedly, manages accreditation materials for Academic Affairs.
Qualifications
- BA required; MA or Ph.D. preferred.
- Past experience working in higher education, with an appreciation for the liberal arts and the role of faculty, desired.
- Compelling communicator who can listen deeply and is capable of framing authentic, mission-driven, nuanced narratives to different stakeholders and audiences.
- Experience deploying data and digital tools strategically and effectively, including data collection, usage and visualization.
- Demonstrated success implementing change across various groups of stakeholders.
- Optional background in design thinking or user experience (UX) design welcome.
- Professional who finds joy working on a team, capable of facilitating improvements and empowering others, and approaches situations creatively and collaboratively, with an open mind and sense of humor.
- Agile problem-solver and avid learner who is responsive to feedback and welcomes challenges.
- Enthusiastic about contributing to an inclusive culture of ongoing improvement, while collaborating closely with colleagues across campus.
