Description
Johnson Memorial Hospital a member of trinity Health Of New England is looking for a
Medical Office Coordinator to join the Case Management Team.
The Medical Office Coordinator performs a variety of general office duties to assist the staff of the Case Management Department.
What Will You Do
- Answer telephones, takes messages and route calls.
- obtaining insurance authorizations.
- Manage Denials, setting up P2P’s or downgrading accounts in Event Management
- Collect data essential to Departments metrics to include readmissions, O/E, observation hours and denials.
- Responsible for entering data into teams’ site and excel workbooks.
- Coordinates support activities involved in daily operations of an effective Case Management Department
- provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff and family members.
- Performs variety of duties related to the authorization and recertification of insurance for patients
- Manage department schedule and time and attendance
- manage office department supplies
- Supports Case Management staff with clerical tasks with positive energy.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's or Bachelors preferred
- Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare
- Excellent computer abilities. Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills. Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent experience. Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team treatment model. Ability to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously
