What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL SECRETARY position at Trinity Health Of New England?
Position Purpose:
This person is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and care to all patients and clients and is responsible for the coordination of administrative tasks. The Medical Secretary has administrative responsibilities including patient greeting, check-in, answering phones, triaging phone calls, scanning, scheduling appointments and procedures for exams and regularly communicating with office staff. The medical secretary prepares and maintains patient charts and obtains pre-certifications and authorizations for patients' exams.

Contributes to overall quality of care by treating all patients with respect and dignity
Provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patients, staff, and family members
Maintains proficiency with office computer systems. Performs clerical duties in a fast-paced environment
Supports clinical staff with clerical and clinical tasks with positive energy
Minimum Requirements:
Education Associates preferred
1 -2 years' experience in healthcare
Medical Secretary/equivalent on-the-job experience required
Epic experience preferred
Excellent computer abilities.
Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
