The duties within this job description in addition to Mercy One – Siouxland, also benefit the CAH, Primghar Mercy Hospital. Anticipated percentage of time to be spent working on Primghar is respectively reported on actual time studies.

The duties within this job description in addition to Mercy One – Siouxland, also benefit the CAH, Primghar Mercy Hospital. Anticipated percentage of time to be spent working on Primghar is respectively reported on actual time studies.

What you will do:

  • Through general direction of department managers, provides safe, economic and efficient patient services in accordance with quality standards and documents same on clinical records. Oversees the practice of nursing in the implementation of nursing practice standards as they relate to the emergency patient.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director(s) and Managers in the provision of services and in the evaluation of implementation of medical protocols.
  • Oversees the practice of nursing in all areas of responsibility collaborating with the Chief Nurse Executive to ensure continuous quality improvement and the implementation of practice standards.
  • Collaborates with the various managers in the patient care delivery system for patients in all areas. Creates, implements and monitors the admission procedural diagnostic component, dismissal and follow-up of patients.
  • Serves as the appointed designee for various hospital committees and is responsible for the appropriate committees designed to oversee the quality of services provided.
  • Takes an active role in community programs, collaborates with community agencies, and serves on or promotes various committees throughout the community.

What we are looking for:

  • Requires a Bachelor Nursing (BSN) degree with a current Iowa nursing license and master’s degree in related field, MSN preferred.
  • Requires at least three to five years progressive management experience. Must have working knowledge base of assigned services.
