Functions independently and collaboratively with nursing and medical staff to provide assistance and support to the breast-feeding mother. Provides consultation and care for the management of routine and complex breast feeding problems utilizing the nursing process to assess problems, set mutual patient-centered goals, plan care and evaluate the results. Coordinator, facilitator, and resource person for the nursing and medical staff for breast-feeding problems and issues.
