St. Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid Atlantic is looking for a PRN Patient Escort to join our team!:
The escort/courier /clerk position is responsible for the safe and courteous transport of patients and additional items such as IV poles and O2 tanks from Nursing Units to diagnostic/treatment areas. They must also return patients to the appropriate Nursing unit. The escort/clerk is also responsible for monitoring the integrity of wheelchairs and stretchers, reporting any unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel. While covering the hospital on off shifts, escort will also be responsible for courier duties assisting nursing floors with needs. When not escorting patients, this position functions as a clerk. In this capacity, the clerk is required to answer the phone, utilize office equipment such as fax machines and copiers. The escort/clerk must also retrieve files and reports and re-file same. The clerk is expected to have a thorough understanding of the hospital EMR and radiology PACS systems
Other duties as needed for the department.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Transport patients and equipment
2. Courier duties as needed
3. Utilize hospital EMR and radiology PACS system
4. Provide Transport coverage 24/7 including weekends and holidays
5. Accept additional tasks and assignments

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification/Skills):
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Prior medical office work or escort experience preferred.
