Your Role as a Sous Chef:
As a Sous Chef at Saint Mary Home, you will play a crucial role in supervising and directing the culinary production staff and operations. Your primary goal will be to ensure the delivery of exceptional food products and services, exceeding customer, and patient satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with our Executive Chef and General Manager, contributing to food ordering, production, service, catering events, sanitation, and facilities' maintenance.
What We're Looking For:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience as a cook.
Culinary degree from ACF accredited program or associate degree, Culinary Certification, ACF apprenticeship preferred.
Must be able to successfully complete the Management course for SERV Safe Certification within 6 months of hire.
Key Responsibilities:
Cook a variety of foods in large quantities, highlighting your expertise in knife handling, soup and sauce production, meat fabrication, and recipe analysis.
Demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, effectively following both oral and written instructions.
Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred but not mandatory.
