Employment Specialist 3122R (Joliet, IL)
Location: Joliet, IL
Program or Services: Hempstead; Network 6
Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Requires flexibility for some nights and weekends
Some traveling is required
Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Employment Services, the Employment Specialist develops job opportunities and placements for individuals with disabilities. Employment Specialists contact employers for job openings and work with employers to identify positions and tasks for their clients.
Employment Specialists help to facilitate positive employment outcomes for individuals seeking employment, helping identify their skills and goals and working with them to find and apply for jobs appropriate to those skills and goals. The supports and services provided will be done in a dignified, respectful and professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- The Employment Specialist promotes a work environment that respects those we serve and always treats them with dignity and respect
- Performs intakes with prospective clients and their guardians/families
- Explain services and gathering required information
- Work along with DRS
- Complete assessments
- Coach clients on job search techniques including how to fill out applications, present themselves in the interview, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social service, psychology, or a related field
- Outside sales or marketing experience a plus
- Computer skills including word, excel, email, and internet
- A valid driver’s license (required)
