Program Coordinator 3821R (Peoria, IL)
Location: Peoria, IL
Program or Service: Network 4
Schedule/Shift: M-F; 8am-4:30pm
Description:
Seeking a responsible leader to coordinate a Community Day Service Program (CDS). The Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of a program serving those with intellectual disabilities. This candidate must work well with a team and supervises a team of direct support staff. Essential skills needed are the ability to build a relationship with the people who are served, their families, and staff that work within the agency. The Program Coordinator will develop and grow curriculum resources, and complete administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator position is responsible for working with their team to conduct curriculum, plan and participate in experiences with the people served in the community, facilitate group activities in the program, assist with ADL skills, coaching and mentoring staff and people served to maximize all abilities and outcomes. This ideal candidate will be flexible, patient, and willing to assist with a variety of tasks including keeping the building clean. This role has purview over helping support people, managing physical plant and administrative responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a social service or human service field. Interested candidates must have excellent organizational skills plus the ability to effectively establish priorities. A qualified candidate should have knowledge of applicable standards and regulations as they apply to Community Day Service (CDS) programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years or more of managerial experience and one year or more of experience working with people who have intellectual disabilities or mental illness.
