Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, responsible , and detail-oriented individual that works well with others to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations in our outpatient physical therapy clinic, including providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone, communicating insurance benefits to patients, collecting payments, completing paperwork, and scheduling visits. This position would also include managing medical records, overseeing credentialing, and being the director of social media for the practice. Salary and Incentives:
- Base salary starting at $35,360 / year ($17/hr)
- Monthly bonus for entire admin team based on clinic schedule - $1,800 - $5,400 / year
- Director of Social Media - $600 - $1800 / year
- Potential salary with max bonuses - $40,760 / year
- Average benefits package worth $14,000 / year
- 120 hours of PTO, plus 9 paid holidays
Hours:
- Mon / Wed / Thurs 11:30-7:30
- Tues 9:00-5:00
- Fri 10:00-6:00
Responsibilities:
- Create a great patient experience by providing excellent customer service
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Cultivate positive relationships with patients, therapists, referring offices, and fellow patient care coordinators
- Efficient schedule management including properly scheduling visits, managing sudden openings and filling available slots, and helping maintain a positive arrival rate by reminding patients of appointments
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Obtain and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Assist with benefit verification and explaining those benefits to clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, including identification, patient history, health questionnaires, insurance information / card, visit limits based on benefits, consent to treat, outcome tools, etc.
- Responsibly follow money handling procedures for collecting co-payments and co-insurances from patients, recording transactions, and creating daily / weekly logs accordingly
- Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient care and schedule management
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred
- Working knowledge of insurance terminology, billing, charges, and collections
- Proficiency in using common office software, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Track record of exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a positive attitude
