TRISTAR is seeking a Engineering Technician I for our government customer in Dahlgren, VA
Position Description:
- TRISTAR is seeking a Technician to provide Tactical Exploitation sensor and Link-16 JTIDS technical support for the Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department - Electromagnetic Effects Division (B50) Shipboard Sensor Support group at our Dahlgren, VA location
Position Responsibilities:
- Duties will include coordinating and directly supporting the removal, installation and certification testing of Tactical Exploitation Sensor and Link-16 antennas aboard various classes of United States Navy vessel
- Support of the overhaul/repair of the antennas within the NSWC Antenna Production Laboratory
- Provide regular status updates to support the Surface Maritime Sensor Group and the Production and Evaluation Program Manager with coordination and scheduling
- Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) policies
Position Requirements:
- One (1) year of general experience in electronics, physics, or RF energy
- Good writing, communications and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to accept and respond to new emergent and unique project task requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing to coworkers and team members as well as external entities/customers
- Ability to travel to support shipboard work for overnight as well as extended periods of time (1-2 weeks at a time)
- Computer knowledge of programs, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office - Word, Excel; e-mail services
- Experience working aboard Navy ships
- Ability to Lift and Carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at VARIOUS shipboard heights, INCLUDING THE TOP OF MASTS, either from a crane bucket, scaffolding, or man lift
- Experience using one or more of the following pieces of RF test equipment; multi-meters, Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs), and Network Analyzers
- Must be a US Citizen
- An Active Secret Clearance is required or be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued security clearance of secret - An interim is required before starting
Radar Education and Certification:
- High School Diploma
- Vocational/technical training beyond high school
