Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle payroll processing and benefits-related accounting tasks with precision.
• Assist with monthly payroll journal postings and ensure compliance with payroll and insurance-related accounting policies.
• Interact with internal and external customers using both verbal and written communication skills to discuss accounting processes or issues
• Analyze accounting activities and compile support to prepare recurring monthly journal entries
• Prepare various balance sheet reconciliations and account variance analyses to ensure the accuracy of financial data across multiple business units
• Provide support to Controllership, Tax and FP&A functions related to various other domestic and international accounting projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with general journal postings, payroll accounting, and employee benefits.
• Familiarity with GAAP accounting standards and payroll processing.
• Experience with insurance-related accounting is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
• Ability to observe, analyze and communicate relevant information to help address problems and develop solutions
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
• Strong inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; moderate to strong Excel skills a plus
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP system a plus
