YOUR LIFE AS A TRADEMARK LAWYER

The schedule for this trademark law position is flexible between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm but requires regular availability for our team and client communications, such as desk hours between 8 am -1 pm or 10 am - 3 pm.

As a part-time Trademark Lawyer, you are essential to our ability to handle the trademark law needs of our clients. Each new day you undertake a variety of tasks that keep you engaged and fulfilled. Among others, you monitor the docket for deadlines, email status reports to our clients, perform searches of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and discuss the search results with our clients.

Sometimes, you provide counsel to our clients to help them understand their legal options, or you represent them in negotiations. On occasion, you also represent them in court. You enjoy interacting with our clients and appreciate the opportunity to meet prospective ones at our recruiting events. All in all, you love helping people navigate trademark issues that can be complex. As a part-time lawyer, you are happy to contribute to our law firm in such an important way!

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Licensed and in good standing with a state bar
• 2 years of trademark experience including litigation
• Skilled at searches of the USPTO using Boolean Operators, the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS), or third-party vendors such as Markify
• Residence within the Chicago area
