Under direct supervision, perform data entry including attendance, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data, new student registration, and withdrawals. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Special Knowledge/Skills: • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing • Proficient keyboarding, file maintenance, multitasking and 10-key skills • Ability to meet established deadlines Experience: Minimum of one-year data entry experience MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Records and Reports 1. Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify its accuracy according to established procedures. 2. Prepare and print reports, including attendance reports, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, and end of week reports. 3. Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance. 4. Assist teachers in making phone calls to parents as needed. 5. Maintain new student applications. Will assist the PEIMS Coordinator in conducting the waiting list lottery. 6. Attend attendance trainings and have knowledge of the Student Attendance Accountability Handbook and local student handbook. 7. Speak with and inform teachers of attendance procedures. 8. Demonstrate responsible and ethical behavior. 9. Call parents to verify student absences as needed. 10. Report all attendance problems to designated administrator. 11. Submit truancy reports to the Justice of the Peace Court and attend truancy hearings. Other 12. Assist in campus office as needed. 13. Serve as front office relief person to answer door, telephone, screening and directing calls, answer questions, take and route messages. 14. Maintain confidentiality. 15. Assist in reviewing and maintaining attendance policies and procedures. 16. Responsible to place new student applications on waiting list. 17. Assist with student discipline when needed. 18. Call parents when students are sick, and nurse is out of the office. 19. Perform other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS Equipment Used: Computer with appropriate software, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, overhead projector, and other specialized equipment. Mental Demands: Reading; perform basic mathematics; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to attend to detail; maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruption.
