EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Required or be willing to become a certified Crisis Prevention and Intervention instructor
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an approved education program
- Hold or be eligible to hold an appropriate NC Exceptional Children's License from the NC Department of Public Instruction or maintain the requirements to be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors
- Experience in developing and implementing behavior interventions while tracking and analyzing student data
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in staff development workshops as directed by Exceptional Children's Director
- Work collaboratively with school staff, community agencies, and parents to link students and families to appropriate support
- Provide on-going consultation and coaching to implement appropriate behavioral supports and interventions for students with behavioral needs
- Provide direct behavioral support services to identified students
- Supervise duties and schedule for traveling behavior assistant
- Collect and analyze behavior data for students and teachers
- Support district mental health team and school crisis teams
- Assist classroom teachers with implementing behavior management strategies as specified by Behavior Intervention Plan; focusing on teaching replacement behaviors
- Collaborate with the MTSS District Coordinator to develop a working knowledge of Core behavior supports and support the evolution of behavior interventions
- Assess the need for Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan including the development of effective data collections systems
- Collect and maintain weekly documentation on the progress of students to demonstrate progress toward goals and to identify skills acquired
- Provide training to staff on the execution and active monitoring of Behavioral Intervention Plans to ensure consistent implementation with fidelity
- Display strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all pertinent federal, state, and district regulations and policies
- Assist with overseeing processes for students on modified-day or home bound
- Submit reports required by the program
- Assist with writing the PRC 29 grant and identifying areas of need and targeted goals
- All other duties as assigned by the EC Director
