Promotes efficiency by performing clerical duties diligently. Performs clerical duties for assigned personnel and deals with students, staff and parents.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED
Some college preferred
EXPERIENCE:
One year of clerical experience, preferably in public education environment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certification as required by the Texas Education Agency

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
Prepare written correspondence forms, schedules, or reports using typewriter or personal computer. Prepare instructional materials, meeting agendas, honor rolls, graduation lists, and campus communication as requested, using typewriter or personal computer. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for immediate supervisor. Assists the counseling department with student scheduling and registration as needed. Assists with required campus counseling department testing and the entering and processing of student Transcripts. Assists with counseling department student campus activities as required.
Reception and Phones
Assist students, teachers, and parents, as needed. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Files
Maintain physical and computerized files including inventory of school and office supplies, mailing lists, student records, visitor logs, and office communication. Update handbooks, policy manuals, and other documents, as assigned.
Other
Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents. Maintain confidentiality. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. Exercise professional judgment in absences; be punctual to work, meetings, and appointments. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of the computer is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
This position requires meeting multiple demands from several people at the same time. The employee continuously interacts with staff, students and the general public.
The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.
