The Director of Adult Community Education (ACE) reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Schools and is responsible for directing, planning, administering and marketing the programs of ACE. These programs will focus on non-credit, afternoon/evening classes for adults. Most programs (though not all) will be held in Nauset Public School facilities after school hours. The program is not part of the Nauset Public Schools but will exist to serve the Nauset community members.

- Articulate the mission of the Adult Community Education (ACE) to community, staff, schools, and other community organizations within the Nauset district and surrounding communities
- Coordinate program development and provide direction with the development of goals, objectives, and policies
- Assume budgetary responsibilities, including tuition rates and budget management for a fee-based, nonprofit organization that will be dependent on tuition to cover all its operating expenses
- Forecast revenues to support effective programming and appropriate staffing using the revenues that are available in any given year
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hiring program staff
- Schedule the building use for all classes in cooperation with Nauset Public Schools, recognizing that school activities take precedence over ACE programs; arranging for non-school classroom space in other community facilities as needed
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and support the ACE faculty
- Develop, produce, and distribute all ACE promotional activities, course listings, and website information
- Other related duties as may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- At least five years' experience in a leadership role, preferably in adult education or a closely related field
- Management experience highly desirable
