TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. 42 week position.
SALARY: Beginning at Grade 5 according to the Administrative Support Staff Agreement, $18.32 per hour.
BENEFITS:Single-subscriber Medical insurance, Dental, Vision, Employer Paid Life and ADD, with the option to elect additional voluntary coverage, HSA and FSA / DFSA options, Paid Time Off. Cash in lieu of medical benefits also available for eligible employees.
EVALUATION: In accordance with the Administrative Support Staff Agreement on evaluation.
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that employee must meet to successfully perform the functions of this position. The employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for long periods. The employee will make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee is also required to move about the inside of the building and required to open and close filing cabinets, operate office equipment and computers. The employee spends a majority of their time communicating with staff and must be able to exchange and record accurate information in these situations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this position. The noise level in the work environment is consistent with an office environment and is usually quiet but frequently busy. This position is frequently required to interact with staff, which requires courtesy and discretion. A professional appearance and telephone manner is essential. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task and make independent decisions using sound judgment.

- Previous secretarial experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of computers and various office machines
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Ability to administer general first aid
- CPR training
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greeting and assisting students, parents and visitors.
- Type and prepare reports, newsletters and other communication.
- Maintain files of correspondence and communication.
- Sort and distribute mail, PTO and school communication.
- Prepare payroll records biweekly. Maintain log of sick days, personal leave, vacation, no pay days and work-related absences.
- Finalize, copy and distribute weekly calendar for staff.
- Type memos, letters, reports, etc. as directed by the principal.
- Assist with reports mandated by other departments within the district.
- Make general announcements over the intercom.
- Maintain current Employee Status Report records on all support staff.
- Maintain attendance, budget and purchase order records.
- Assist in the preparation of the building budget.
- Routinely check for necessary office, classroom and health room supplies.
- Receive supplies and distribute.
- Order maintenance and service on office and school equipment as needed.
- Verify daily teacher and substitute teacher attendance records through the use of the substitute automated calling system.
- Schedule subs for support staff as needed.
- Answer and direct phone calls; relay phone messages.
- General filing and record keeping.
- Sort and distribute mail for the principal.
- Schedule appointments for the principal.
- Administer prescribed medication to students.
- Administer basic first aid to students.
- Notify parents of injured child.
- Inventory student medication.
- Prepare incident/accident reports.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administered to students.
- Office reception during parent/teacher conferences.
- Assist with kindergarten round-up.
- Help prepare for opening and closing of school.
- Support goals of the principal and district as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
