SUNBURST PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
SUNBURST: Summer's Ultimate Network Bodaciously Uniting Resourceful Students Together, is an opportunity for Nauset's 4th-6th Graders to engage in hands-on, real-world, application-based learning after school at Nauset Regional Middle School.. Students from Eddy Elementary School, Orleans Elementary School, Eastham Elementary School, Wellfleet Elementary School, and Nauset Regional Middle School are eligible.
DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT OF POSITION:
The Instructional Coach is responsible for overseeing Sunburst's After School and Summer program and is responsible for maintaining a presence in all OST activities on a daily basis and handling day-to-day oversight. The Instructional Coach works collaboratively with Sunburst's Program Coordinator to ensure all Out of School Time (OST) activities meet DESE and OST requirements and helps the site meet program goals. Additionally Sunburst's Instructional Coach maintains positive school day administration and staff communications; as well as positive communication with OST staff, students, and families. The Instructional Coach is also responsible for recognizing when mentoring is necessary and providing technical assistance as needed.
Collaborates with Sunburst's Program Director to develop Sunburst's program of activities
Collaborates with Sunburst's Program Director, Sunburst's Community Outreach Liaison, and Sunburst's Teachers (After School and Summer) to ensure high quality programming including community connections
Gathers and organizes relevant program materials
Visits various Sunburst activities to ensure program focus/goals are being met
Analyzes data and assists in developing program action plans to address site weaknesses
Assists with curriculum development
Assists with PD as necessary
Conducts High Quality Instruction observations
Works with Sunburst Program Director and Sunburst Community Outreach Liaison to implement family engagement
Participates in family engagement events as necessary
Assist with site supply purchases
Performs all other duties assigned by the Sunburst's Program Director

BA/BS degree or higher from an accredited college or university or equivalent working experience;
Minimum 5 years' experience as classroom teacher or relevant Out of School Time (OST) experience.
Minimum of 3 years' experience designing and managing OST programs, or relevant classroom experience
Enthusiasm, creativity, maturity, good moral character, patience, and self-control
Ability to accept supervision and guidance
Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts
Experience implementing equity, belonging, and learning initiatives, community outreach, multi-tiered system of support, and deep learning practices;
Experience designing and delivering high quality after school and summer programs;
Experience collaborating with and coaching teachers to improve pedagogical practice and improve learning outcomes;
Ability to plan, organize, and work collaboratively with other teams;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships;

Sunburst After School Session 3: April 1st - June 13th
Sunburst Summer 2024: through mid-August
20 hours per week during the school year, up to 30 hours per week during Summer; opportunity to do some work remotely
