Position Summary:
Trupanion is looking for a motivated and driven sales professional to join the Inside Sales Team! This person will play a fundamental role in driving growth and engagement within Trupanion partnered veterinary hospitals. They serve as the front-line liaison for all of our vet channels, territory partnerships, market leaders, and key business stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong capabilities in leading and managing through ambiguity, with the ability to leverage business acumen, balanced with a thoughtful and strategic approach to influence business relations.
The role will be working directly with veterinary hospitals to generate interest in Trupanion and educate veterinary professionals on why medical insurance for dogs and cats is extraordinarily valuable. It will require close partnership with our Territory Partners (Trupanion’s Field Sales Executives) to collaborate on the engagement of partner hospital accounts. This role will largely entail constant, proactive communication via phone calls. The right candidate must be confident in managing significant volume of inbound and outbound virtual touchpoints daily.
This position is a primarily remote role open to candidates anywhere in the US, with some travel to Virginia and the D.C. Metro area required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Relationship Sales:
- Responsible for developing relationships with assigned territory or hospital partners. Connect with key players in the veterinary hospital on a regular cadence to educate on the benefits of an insured client base, discuss individual hospital performance, and coach on any challenges or successes at the hospital level.
- Executes the growth strategy of growing the Trupanion brand by working with territory partners.
- Spend time identifying potential hospital partnerships (Prospecting) & working with Field Sales team to add new partners
- Train partnered veterinary hospitals on Trupanion software
- Support prospecting new hospitals
- Collaborate closely with Trupanion Territory Partners to communicate about assigned accounts
- Generate and lift enrollments within Trupanion Partner hospitals
- Set and execute monthly and quarterly goals at the territory level
- Ability to partner and collaborate well in cross functional teams
Territory Diagnostics:
- General knowledge of competitive landscape and hospital behavior
- Strong ability to influence without authority and collaborate with all social styles
- Recommends business solutions, best practices and market strategies for field partners
- Thorough knowledge of sales metrics and key performance indicator processes
- Stays current on product and pricing changes for assigned territories
Qualifications

Experience:
- 2 years of experience building and maintaining long term client relationships and acquiring new customers
- Veterinary experience is a plus!
- Bilingual or multilingual a plus (not required)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including fluency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint with preferred exposure to CRM Platforms.
