Immediate opening for full-time Phlebotomist to join our busy pediatric practice. Ideal candidate will be energetic, friendly and dependable. Must have venipuncture and heel/finger stick experience in infants and children and be familiar with Clia-waived lab tests. Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs laboratory testing according to CLIA & JMA guidelines
- Assists in the maintenance of Quality Control Records
- Retrieves and inputs all laboratory results into the EHR that are received from outside facilities
- Organizes and submits proficiency testing as mandated by appropriate timelines
- Assists in examination and treatment of patients to include obtaining and running specimens and other clinical tasks as directed by the supervisor
- Maintains and updates the laboratory procedure manual according to the most current regulations
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND CREDENTIALS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience in a pediatric medical group practice
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Competency in operating medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Knowledge required to maintain a safe work environment
- Possess the ability to maintain quality control standards, react calmly and effectively in emergencies, interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures, communicate clearly, and work effectively with co-workers, while maintaining confidentiality of clinical information
