Job Description:
First National Bank and Trust Company (formally known as the State Bank of Arcadia), an affiliate of TS Banking Group, is seeking to hire a AVP of Consumer Credit. This role is responsible for originating, underwriting, and closing consumer loans in accordance with established lending objectives, policies, and procedures. Also, must establish and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients.
Preferred education and/or experience includes: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in the field of business, including specific courses in Accounting, finance, and economics; five to six years related banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:
Consult with clients in evaluating other Bank products that meet the client's financial needs
Actively develop and maintain a good working relationship with and between all company staff, clients, and others involved in loan transactions
Promote sale of credit and loan services
Remain the primary point of contact between client and bank, throughout the loan process
Perform weekly file review of all loans in process, reviewing missing items still needed
Comply with all applicable government regulations and cooperate with internal quality control and compliance programs
Develop a strategy to assist clients after completion of the transaction, including review of and assistance for additional and future financial needs
Prepare statements on delinquent accounts and forward irreconcilable accounts for collector action
Participate in training programs as required by management
Review and analyze client's financial status, goals and needs, and recommend the appropriate loan product
Interview applicants and request specified information for loan application; request appraisals, applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan application; analyze applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan; and correspond with or interview applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
Works closely with the company’s credit analysts in underwriting loan requests into credit packages for appropriate approval.
Compile loan package and facilitate negotiation with applicant according to established standards, such as fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms; refer loan to loan committee for approval; ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy; assure timely loan closing and funding activities.
Utilize government programs when deemed necessary to meet client's credit needs.
Assist clients with inquiries and information requests, and resolve complaints relating to credit products and services offered.
Strive diligently to maintain a quality portfolio with minimal delinquency. Counsel borrowers and recommend remedies to resolve delinquencies. Work through troubles and seriously delinquent loans.
Participate in the collection procedures to assure the timely collection of all delinquent accounts and develop revised loan repayment terms or schedules as necessary.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with loan businesses and other organizations to provide information regarding the lending programs and policies.
Train Universal Bankers on lending policy and procedures. Monitor their compliance with lending policy and procedures. Assist Universal Bankers with collection efforts as necessary.
Regularly make out of the bank business calls on existing and potential clients.
Make qualified referrals to all areas of the bank, including wealth management.
Participate in the bank's business development activities, represent the bank in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc., and promote the bank's favorable image.
Ability to perform all other duties as assigned.
Comply with all banking and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees of company and the general public. Must possess good communication skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to operate the following: telephone, personal computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs. Advanced PC knowledge beneficial.
