Role Overview and Responsibilities
Job Summary
Magnetic Engineer leader that functions as a working leader on moderate to complex parts, projects and assemblies requiring innovative and original solutions.
Key Responsibilities include
- Proficiency with all Senior Design Engineer tasks.
- Works on designs for complex Magnetic Electrical, and Manufacturing projects and assemblies.
- Reviews Design Engineer I & II work. May monitor Sr. Design Engineer work.
- Identifies the need for manufacturing fixtures.
- Completes more complex projects and assemblies, and is responsible for final quote outcome.
- Solves difficult technical and manufacturing problems of a product-wide nature.
- Anticipates technical and manufacturing problems with new product and assembly design.
- Identify & participate in creating processes within the MRP/ERP system.
- Must have proficient engineering writing skills to Create work instructions for EEU’s and production level parts approve work instructions by manufacturing engineers.
- Designs simple fixtures if necessary.
- Manages product and project design process from concept to execution.
- Researches and evaluation of materials and manufacturing processes related to design, as well as research and evaluate new product design methods.
- Leads cost and waste reduction programs and serve as a technical resource.
- Possesses a high level of proficiency in DFMEA and PFMEA processes, and possesses the ability to be a technical expert for both.
- Provides leadership and training as required in a team atmosphere.
- Partners with sales team and program management for new business development.
- Works with outside customers in regards to specific design work and new design requests, and ability to help with problem resolution of specific to general natures.
- Gives effective presentations to customers for external consumption.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Core Requirements
- BSEE or equivalent. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in specific product design may be required.
- 10 to 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years at a Senior Design Engineer level.
- 3-5 years of previous leadership for an engineering team.
- Proficiencies lean manufacturing.
- Ability to exercise comprehensive latitude and technical judgment and initiative in setting and interpreting goals.
- Capable of understanding and working with electronic circuits.
- Capable of using computer design software, such as Inventor or Autocad and analysis software.
- Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
- This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
