What You'll Do
Enjoy knowing that your work makes a difference? You'll maintain the cleanliness of the toll facility by performing routine maintenance and custodial duties.
You'll have weekends off and be close to the beach. You'll be in a toll facility with adequate cooling and heating but may be subject to weather conditions.
You'll report to Facilities Manager. You'll contribute to the success of the customer experience and the overall success of the team.
During a Typical Day, You'll
- Proficiently operate the Florida Department of Transportation's custodial equipment including, but not limited to, push mobile pressure cleaners
- Clean the interior of the toll facility administrative building, tunnels and tunnel stairs, toll booths, and remote ramp locations
- Keep parking areas, lanes, and lawns free of trash; collect and load trash in appropriate waste receptacles
- Speak and understand English proficiently to effectively communicate with staff and motorists and respond to inquiries in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner
What You Bring to the Role
- Work schedule is Monday - Friday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm EST
- High school diploma or GED
- Current and valid Florida Driver's License
- Previous janitorial or maintenance experience required
- Effective communication in English
- Awareness of safety measures and how to use and mix chemicals in toll facilities
Final candidates for this position will need to successfully complete a drug screening and background investigation, which may include a criminal check along with a Florida driver's license check.
Physical Requirements of the Role
- Ability to safely walk across toll lanes and climb / descend stairs while carrying up to 30 -50 pounds
- Ability to walk long distances
- Ability to determine vehicle classification by visual inspection
- Good mobility, vision, and hearing to cross lanes safely and be alert to traffic conditions
- Ability to operate a push mobile pressure washer and other power tools
