General overview of the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of the store operation, and is responsible and accountable for driving business results through the effective leadership of the store team. Areas of focus include customer service, sales and profit growth, merchandising execution, and by embracing a culture of coaching and development of store associate. The Store Manager role requires a high level of communication, efficiency and drive for results.
Responsibilities
- Manages the profitable operation of the store and ensure operations are consistent with Tuesday
Morning’s culture, customer service and visual merchandising standards.
- Model, coach and teach associates to deliver constant exemplary customer service experience and uphold our merchandising and operational standards.
- Continuously talent plan to build a strong internal bench, maintain a network of great candidates, hire exceptional people. Ensure staff availability along with a hiring/training plan is in place to support the in store experience and sales goals while managing labor budget/models.
- Prioritizes employee development and provides employees with timely and specific feedback to create a culture of action and accountability.
- Utilizes company tools to analyze business opportunities within product placement, and stock levels.
- Maintain and oversee accuracy of record keeping, including but not limited to; cash handling, sale
& refund receipts and attendance records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues independently.
- Protect company assets including merchandise, fixtures, furnishings, equipment and supplies.
- Manage loss prevention and the execution of physical inventory.
- Uphold safe working and shopping environment for both associates and customers. Always practice safe usage of all store equipment and provide appropriate service levels to deter against theft. Conduct monthly safety meetings with associates.
Physical Requirements
- On occasion, but in no event more than 40% of Store Manager’s work time he/she will unload trucks; lift, open, unpack boxes of merchandise; use box cutter to open boxes; use 2/4 wheel dolly; use carpenter tools to build displays; use ladders to stock/pull merchandise; use 10 foot rollers to unload trucks; sack purchased merchandise and carry to customer's car;
- Walking and standing; sits at desk to do paperwork.
Skills
- 1-3 years management experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Energetic, results oriented and competitive with a drive to succeed
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
- Proven ability to manage, develop and motivate a team of associates.
- Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, based upon the needs of the business.
- Ability to work evenings, weekend and holidays.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret sales reports, operating procedures and other company communications with the objective to deliver and execute all programs and initiatives.
- May include repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, extended reaching, climbing ladders and step stools while placing merchandise throughout the store and assisting customers and lifting of up to 30 pounds.
