Who You Are
You will be responsible for designing the interaction flow and aesthetics of TurnCommerce products. You will work closely with engineering teams to define the user model and interface for new and existing products. You’ll develop high fidelity mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate user interaction and design ideas. You will be a core contributor to our internal design system, iterating over existing product features to enhance user experience.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Designing a high quality user experience that our customers will enjoy.
- Contributing to our design system, and proposing product design process improvements.
- Partnering with product managers to determine which problems will be most valuable to solve.
- Seeking user feedback throughout the design process.
- Presenting design rationale to leadership.
- Translating concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Handing off designs to Engineering and providing them with any needed support.
- Taking ownership of assigned work from inception to delivery.
Proficiencies/Requirements
- 3 years visual and user-centered (UX) design expertise.
- A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
- Expertise using design and prototyping tools like Figma is preferred but Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD or similar experience is required.
- Experience designing for responsive web experiences.
- Experience conducting or using research findings to inform and refine design decisions.
- You’re a self-starter who can proactively identify opportunities for impact even when they’re not assigned to you.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience creating and implementing accessible designs.
- Experience with design systems.
- Familiarity with usability testing and QA.
- Understand the full picture of how end users will interact with solutions and articulate the impact that design will have on development efforts.
Logistics
Candidates should additionally be prepared to provide references upon request. Candidates should be prepared to share design portfolios as part of the application process. This position has been categorized as a Remote position. Remote employees do not have a permanent desk in our office and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions.
