What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loader position at Turner Industries?
Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Loader for work in the Gramercy, LA area. Loaders will assist with the loading or unloading activities. Loaders for this jobsite will be working in a production environment and outdoors. This position will work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
Functinal Requirements:
- Operate and inspect front end loaders
- Supply the refinery with Raw Sugar as needed
- Operate and inspect the slingers
- Collection of Raw Sugar samples and correctly allocating the sugar
- Cleaning and operating the aero belts
- Washing and greasing front end loaders
- Complete weekly safety observations
- Following all safety, sanitation, and housekeeping requirements in and around the warehouse
- Trouble shooting issues in the area and getting them addressed timely
Qualification Standards:
- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) year of related experience in inventory control and operation of product moving equipment
- Experience operating a front-end loader
- Valid drivers license
- Written pre-employment qualification test
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Pass background check
Functional Requirements:
Accountable for performance of scheduled work while being observant of operating process equipment and maintenance needs; communicates with supervision as necessary to ensure maximum performances as outlined by targeted goals; knowledgeable of and must follow all established plant and company policies and procedures including plant emergency procedures; must be alert for changing conditions and taking any/all actions required.
Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards
