What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Program Manager (Security) position at Turo?
Turo is searching for a highly motivated and versatile Technical Program Manager to join our IT & Security team. You will use your technical expertise to load complex multi-disciplinary projects. You will be working with multiple stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project & team schedules and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the organization. You as a Technical Program Manager in the IT & Security team are equally comfortable communicating your team’s analyses and recommendations to senior management alongside with discussing the technical tradeoffs with multiple stakeholders within various Engineering teams.
The IT & Security team’s mission in Turo is to build and facilitate Security at scale while effectively aligning security objectives with the business goals. In this role you will work closely with our Security team members (engineering, enterprise security & compliance) and drive programs and projects that keep Turo secure.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and scale security programs by defining milestones, success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.
- Contribute in identifying high impact security projects considering business goals.
- Gather requirements, define scope and coordinate between a multitude of cross functional teams and set clear expectations about responsibilities to internal and external stakeholders.
- Project manage security initiatives within and beyond Engineering, across multiple teams;
- Take a hands-on and proactive approach to unblock progress, introduce efficiencies, and provide workflow solutions.
- Build and maintain alignment across multiple teams for keeping a focus on execution, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Understand the end-to-end solution and implementation path to execute large, complex security programs.
What you'll need:
- Minimum 3 years of technical program management experience in a SaaS product development environment - kicking off and managing cross-organizational programs
- Security experience, particularly in Security Engineering (Application Security, Infrastructure Security and Enterprise Security)
- Understanding of risk management including impact of on operations and compliance/control deficiencies
- Knowledge of the tools and elements of project management.
- Experience with delivering security or compliance initiatives within Engineering organizations preferred
- Firm sense of accountability and ownership for end-to-end project lifecycle and strong communication skills and a data-driven analytical approach.
