Where You Will Be: You will be serving as Director of Health Services for our beautiful Tuscan Gardens of Venetia Bay community in Venice, Florida which will consist of 130 suites in a magnificent 130,000 square foot building. The gorgeous Community boasts beautiful furnishings, lush vegetation and gorgeous finishes.
What You Will Do: Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise all healthcare associates to include hiring, training, evaluating and counseling within established policies and procedures.
- Supervise the Assistant Director of Health Services, Nurses, Medication Technicians, CNAs, and Care Associates. Provide leadership and intervention to respond to emergencies.
- Maintain medical records and required documentation under state regulatory guidelines for appropriate licensing and standard operating procedures and policies.
- Assess residents for change in level of care, medical appointments and coordinate required transportation.
- Coordinate medications for residents, serve as facility Nurse, order medication management.
- Work closely with residents and families to develop & implement appropriate Plan of Care.
- Maintain contact with Physicians and ARNPs.
- Monitor staffing schedules and assisting to secure replacement for absences.
- Supervise and assign work for caregivers.
- Maintain strong communication with family members of residents.
- Completion of Incident Reports for residents and staff to include tracking and trending of incidents, follow-up and investigation of incidents and reporting to State agencies as required.
- Monitor that all appropriate notifications are completed timely to include families, ED, and Physicians, etc.
- Follow OSHA compliance related to worker’s compensation.
- Monitoring response times to resident calls and ensure appropriate nursing interventions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida
- Minimum Associate Degree in Nursing preferred.
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible leadership work experience in the long-term care industry or related field.
- Active CPR certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Nursing. Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, preferred.
- Has basic knowledge and understanding of dementia and general medical problems encountered by the elderly required.
