Tuscola County Health Department has an opening for a part-time specially funded Registered Dietitian in our Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program. This position would work 1-2 days/week. Under the supervision of the Nursing Administrator the RD evaluates and assesses nutritional needs of clients and develops nutrition services to the community.
Job duties include:
- Approves Class III formula packages to clients as needed.
- Implements dietary instructional activities in individual and group settings.
- Develops and implements nutritional education plans consistent with the State plan.
- Assesses the nutritional status of client to develop care plans with client.
- Provides dietary counseling and prescribes food packages to high risk clients.
- Serves as a resource consultant to other programs of the health dept.
- Makes/receives referrals; works in coordination with other health care services within the agency and community.
- Responsible for all required reporting and client records.
Educational Requirements:
MUST have: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and one year community health experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must possess a Registered Dietitian License to practice in the state of MI and possess a valid MI driver’s license without limitations.
