Compliance Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Multi-Family Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the multi-family housing industry and will ensure our properties remain compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular audits of property operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Stay-up-to date on changes to regulations affecting the multi-family housing industry and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Train property management staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.
• In addition to property visits, the Compliance Specialist will conduct regional conference calls and attend meetings, communicating with executive management at least once a week via the phone or by written reports to ensure issues unique to the region are recognized and addressed.
• Develop and apply a regulatory compliance program.
• This role will require some travel.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the multi-family housing industry.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing multi-family housing.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
