Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Multi-Family Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the multi-family housing industry and will ensure our properties remain compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular audits of property operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Stay-up-to date on changes to regulations affecting the multi-family housing industry and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Train property management staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
Coordinate with external legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders as needed.
Investigate and resolve compliance issues in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities.
In addition to property visits, the Compliance Specialist will conduct regional conference calls and attend meetings, communicating with executive management at least once a week via the phone or by written reports to ensure issues unique to the region are recognized and addressed.
Develop and apply a regulatory compliance program.
This role will require some travel.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the multi-family housing industry.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing multi-family housing.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
