Description

The Staff Tech, Continuing Studies / Law Enforcement, Police and Fire Academies is a full-time, 12-month position. The Staff Tech, Continuing Studies / Law Enforcement, Police and Fire Academies is responsible to Director, Law Enforcement Academy Director.

Essential Functions and Duties

• Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying to management
• Provide necessary documentation and correspondence to Continuing Studies operations and development staff
• Work collaboratively with all Continuing Studies faculty and staff
• Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system
• Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence
• Perform data entry and scan documents
• Manage calendar for director
• Assist in resolving any administrative problems
• Answer calls from internal and external sources regarding their inquiries
• Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for supervisor
• Maintain office supplies for department
• Performing other duties as assigned

Competencies

• Knowledge and skill to operate a personal computer required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word preferred
• Ability to use independent judgment and initiative when appropriate in dealing with academic and student issues
• Ability to interact in person and by telephone with the College administration, faculty, staff and students as well as the general public
• Must be able to work independently and respect confidentiality
• Must have excellent organizational skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• One to three years administrative office experience

Preferred Education / Experience

• Associate degree
