Successful candidate must currently possess a CDL and comply with the McWane Safe Driving and Vehicle Loss Control Policy.
Responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment such as large payloader, backhoe, and other equipment for moving, loading, unloading, and relocating materials and excavating as required.
Responsible for loading waste into dump trucks to prevent overfills which could result in road spills.
Responsible for transporting non-hazardous waste to company owned landfill site.
Responsible for loading and moving hazardous waste as directed by supervisor and that meets Environmental Department guidelines and policies.
Notifies supervisor of any malfunctions of equipment and makes minor repairs as needed.
Inspects and maintains equipment according to instructions issued by the Industrial Equipment Department and turns in Industrial Equipment Condition Report to supervisor as directed.
Wear the required personal protective equipment and follow safety rules and procedures.
Keeps work area clean, safe, and in orderly condition.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
Candidates for the Heavy Equipment Operator position must meet the following requirements:
Currently possess a CDL and comply with the McWane Safe Driving and Vehicle Loss Control Policy.
Verifiable and consistent work experience.
Pass an employment background check, drug screening, and physical fitness test. (To be coordinated through Tyler Pipe's HR & Safety Departments)
Be 18 years of age or older.
Candidates for the Heavy Equipment Operator position should:
Previous experience operating heavy equipment.
Ability to work on a team with good communication skills.
Always possess a commitment to safety.
Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
Have physical ability to work in extreme heat.
Have a steady, documented work history.
Be able to work the 2nd shift (10AM-7PM).
Be flexible in 2nd shift schedule as needed.
