DAYTIME SALES ASSOCIATE
Reports To: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Department Managers, and Leads
General Purpose of Position : As part of the Tyler’s team, the sales associate will work directly with their management team to ensure that customer needs are met through greeting, answering questions, answering phones, and resolving customer conflicts. In addition to operational and service duties, sales associates must emit a positive and calm attitude at all times. He or She must have the ability to make informative decisions, and solve problems in a critical and diligent manner.
Responsibilities/Duties
· Responsible for ensuring that the highest level of customer service is met through greeting customers, answering phones and directing customer inquiries to appropriate departments.
· Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient.
· Informs customers about services available and assesses customer needs.
· Aids customers with locating merchandise in store.
· Maintain familiarity with the store return policy and pricing.
· Contacts sister stores for customer style checks and special orders.
· Completes, processes, and maintains applicable paperwork and records.
· Assists in the daily opening and closing duties of a retail location.
· Processes new inventory to Tyler’s apparel standards.
· Ensures safekeeping of all Tyler’s property.
· Works to prevent damage and theft of merchandise.
· Ensures that merchandise is stored, handled, and displayed in accordance with Tyler’s policies, strategies, and procedures.
· Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
· Keeps the management team well informed of activities and significant issues.
· Reports to Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Department Managers, and Leads.
Skills
· Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
· Ability to remain calm and polite during peak seasons and stressful situations.
· Ability to multitask.
· Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understand material, and follow instructions from management team.
· Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
Requirements
· Available to work flexible hours between 8 AM and 10 PM on part-time schedule.
· Be familiar with basic functions of computers and technology.
· Must be detail oriented and highly observant.
· Previous retail or customer service experience is highly preferable but not required.
· Desirable qualities should include competitiveness and a committed and positive attitude.
