Family owned Transportation Company is looking for a reliable person to join our dispatch team as a customer service representative. You will receive requests, transmit messages and track units. This person will act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and is able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. Strong organizational skills, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines are a must for this position. Teamwork is the foundation of our working environment!

Job Description:

• Act as communication liaison and answer incoming phone calls from drivers and customers
• Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
• Enter load information into computer and maintain records of calls, activities and other information
• Make delivery appointments with customers and relay information to dispatch manager and drivers
• Collaborate with dispatch manager to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers
• Monitor routes of units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• General knowledge of computer to include, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and Excel, email, and Web based programs
• Must have knowledge of smart phones and be proficient with apps and texting
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Other:

• Must be able to multi-task and take appropriate action with limited supervision
• Ability to adapt to an ever changing, fast paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
• A non-compete/non-disclosure required
• The position is located at our main office in Troy, AL. Applicant is recommended to live within a 50 mile radius

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
