Tysons Corner Children's is a premier, non-profit childcare center with several corporate sponsors and two locations in the Tysons Corner area. This position is located off of Greensboro Drive in McLean, VA. We are currently looking for a full- time Infant Co-Lead Teacher who has at least two years experience working with children 2 months to 16 months of age in a day care environment. The Infant Co-Lead Teacher is equally responsible for creating a warm, accepting classroom atmosphere that encourages the social, emotional and academic growth of all children enrolled in the program.
Duties
- Assist children as needed with feeding, toileting, and personal care as it applies to their appropriate stage of development.
- Be responsive to the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of children and create a nurturing environment to promote children's self-concept.
- Ensure the safety, well-being and security of all children at all times.
- Lead circle time, art activities and other programming efforts as needed. Create displays of children's art and work.
- Sing, read to and interact with young infants up to 16 months,
- Communicate with parents on a daily basis using a friendly manner, and professional demeanor
Requirements
- knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECE) as it applies to the well being of young children.
- minimum of 2 years experience working with infants 2 months through 16 months.
- work in a team environment with a lead teacher,
- provide a proven track record for great interpersonal skills with children, staff and parents,
- provide parents with accurate and timely information about their child,
- work cohesively with staff to ensure teamwork in the classroom,
- communicate ideas verbally and written in English so others will understand
Nice To Haves
- a two or four year degree in a child-related field and/or a Child Development Associate (CDA).
- an understanding of licensing requirements as they apply to infants in a daycare environment
