What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Staff Assistant position at U-Haul?

Legal Staff Assistant

U-Haul International, Inc.’s Legal Department is seeking a staff assistant that will be responsible for assisting in the gathering and preparation of documents for litigation purposes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide assistance to paralegals by researching, retrieving and organizing documents and other relevant case information

  • Maintain electronic files and assist in prepping documents for production

  • Coordinate and obtain documents from various company departments

  • Perform light factual research

  • Assist with coping, scanning, and merging of documents

  • Other clerical/administrative duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to operate personal computer and other office equipment, including but are not limited to facsimile, copier and scanner

  • Experience using Adobe Pro DC or like program

  • Knowledge of basic legal terminology

  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college is preferred
