This announcement is for the Midwest Region - Badlands National Park. The NPS has replaced existing and previously classified Visitor Use Assistant positions (series 0303) with the Recreation Fee Clerk and Technician position (series 0503).
Duties
Recreation Fee Clerk Standard Duties :
Additional duties for GS-04 :
Operate an electronic cash register, computer, or Point of Sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions; perform opening and closing functions;
issue entrance receipts, tour tickets, permits, etc.
Inventory and / or restock fee program supplies and assist with placing orders and preparing requisition requests for equipment / supplies needed.

You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-05 / 20 / 2024 (unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement).
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For all applicants, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
If you do not include hours worked per week (or indicate full-time status), you will not be given credit for that experience.
Quality Ranking Factor : Handling Money - able to handle, collect, and account for money .
To qualify for this position at the GS-04 level, you must possess one of the following :
A. One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates my ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of Recreation Fee Clerk.
B. Two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
C . Equivalent combination of experience and education that, together, equal 100% of the qualification standards listed above when combined.
ICTAP / CTAP Statement : Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.

Education
