What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Therapy Aide position at UAMS Medical Center?
The Rehab Therapy Aide provides and ensures quality patient care adhering to UAMS Medical Center Code of Conduct and Joint Commission standards of care; demonstrates knowledge, skills, and competencies required to maintain highest professional standards in the provision of services and aides the therapy provider in direct patient care as assigned along with indirect patient care duties and clinic duties as assigned.

- Assists patients in carrying out exercises that have been written out by Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Strength and Conditioning coaches, and Chiropractors specifically for that patient, under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Consistently picks-up equipment and cleans the space after the patient throughout the day.
- Checks-in patients as they arrive at the facility.
- Schedules follow-up visits as patients leave from their appointment.
- Answers phones.
- Gathers new patient paperwork.
- Takes copays.
- Participates in continuing education.
- High School Diploma/GED plus one (1) year of patient care, administrative, customer service or related experience.
