Sr. Manager - Project Management

About the Role 

At Uber Freight, we simplify the movement of goods to help communities thrive. We are seeking an experienced FinOps Senior Program Manager to join our dynamic team and help build a world-class Program Management team for the company’s Financial Operations group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, project management, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects within the financial industry. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and closing of financial projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and meet high-quality standards. 

What the Candidate Will Do

• Project Planning 
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, deliverables, and success criteria 
  • Implement standard processes for rolling out projects within the FinOps organization (templates, communications, metrics, etc.) 
• Execution and Monitoring 
  
  • Lead project teams, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines 
  • Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues promptly 
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines effectively. Collaborate with functional users to document process changes and, if needed, train relevant users 
• Financial Expertise 
  
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of financial services to guide project teams and make informed decisions 
  • Understand financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to project deliverables 
  • Escalate changes in processes that will impact the financial outcomes of the organization 
• Stakeholder Communication 
  
  • Maintain transparent and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization 
  • Provide regular project updates, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions 
• Quality Assurance 
  
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet industry standards 
  • Conduct thorough project reviews and assessments at key milestones. 
• Team Leadership 
  
  • Develop and lead a team of program managers.

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field 
• 5 years of project management experience 
• 2 years of people leadership experience 
• 2 years direct experience in financial operations

Preferred Qualifications 

• MBA, PMP, LEAN/Six Sigma Certification 
• Experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry 
• Experience with large-scale ERPs such as Oracle
