Community Name: Harmar Place Community The primary role of the Retention Specialist is to maximize the employee experience for staff members. The Retention Specialist will actively engage with staff, solve problems, communicate, and build relationships to drive higher levels of engagement and retention. Essential Functions Statement(s) Serves as a talent ambassador for new and existing staff; Actively ask questions and engage with staff to solicit feedback, thoughts, opinions, etc. regarding onboarding, orientation, community culture, and work environment Facilitates WeCare Connect conversations and serves as point person in resolving notifications; Actively monitors and reports on status of WCC metrics Utilizes qualitative and quantitative data from various sources to foster conversations to drive high Builds employee networks and fosters relationship building between staff and their respective managers, leaders, and community Ensures the onboarding process is welcoming, thorough and incorporates the company values and culture Identifies gaps where additional supervisor / management training may be needed Coordinates supervisor / management training and development programs Identifies operation / system changes that help meet the needs of staff and business (i.e., shorter schedule, non-traditional schedules, PRN) Engages with various stakeholders to provide feedback on compensation and scheduling ensuring competitiveness and willingness to explore models that better align with today’s workforce needs Develops innovative opportunities for advancement and career paths for staff Leads recognition and appreciation teams and programs across the community Identifies opportunities for better communication and transparency amongst staff and leadership Crafts organizational messages that instill the company’s mission and core values Creates more realistic job preview opportunities for candidates Coordinates “Extravagant Welcome” experience for new staff Improves the employer brand outside the organization within the community Works with all leaders to make the organization a better place to work Performs all other duties assigned Competency Statement(s) Coaching and Development - Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas. Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures Skills & Abilities Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college) Preferred, Field of Study: Human Resources with a focus on training and/or leadership coaching and employee engagement Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience in training and/or leadership coaching preferred Licensure / Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
