What are the responsibilities and job description for the EXHIBITIONS PRODUCTION MANAGER position at UCLA?
Under the direction of the Director of Registration and Collections Management, the Exhibit Production Manager is responsible for the production and maintenance of all Fowler exhibitions. Design smaller scale exhibitions in the Goldenberg Galleria, Fowler in Focus, Joss gallery rotating spaces, lobby and other gallery spaces. Interacts with contract exhibitions designers to build exhibition displays. Recruits and coordinates skill-specific craftspeople for all exhibitions installations and other related tasks. Ensures the continuity of services provided by the department. Provides support services for other Museum units as determined by the Museum Director, Director of Registration and Collections Manager, and Deputy Director.

A high level of skill in the use of tools, materials and fabrication techniques. This includes carpentry and cabinet making, welding and brazing, acrylic forming, electronics, casting and the use of a wide range of paints and adhesives.
Required
Skills in the production of exhibition graphics. This includes drafting, illustrations, computer systems, dry mounting, cold mounting, silk-screen, INT, cut-vinyl graphics, transfer type, paste-up, matte-cutting and framing.
Preferred
Knowledge of production techniques and equipment required for audio-visual programs.
Preferred
Ability to read and interpret exhibition floor plans and construction drawings.
Required
Ability to develop fabrication designs and techniques from schematic instructions.

Ability to problem solve and initiate appropriate action.
