What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant I position at UCLA?
Lab Assistant to work with the PI and an undergraduate to explore Down Syndrome. The lab assistant will help characterize phenotypes of Down Syndrome cells in culture. The candidate must have experience in neural progenitor cell biology and must have experience in tissue culture, small molecule treatment, and phenotypying (immunostaining, morphological assessment, western blotting) normal versus disease neurons.

1. Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or biochemistry with suitable knowledge of biology, and tissue culture; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. Ability to understand scientific protocols, to maintain an organized, clear, and concise laboratory notebook.

4. Ability to learn new techniques and then work independently without close supervision.
