What are the responsibilities and job description for the CVOR RN position at UF Health Jacksonville?
The cardiothoracic-vascular Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients in select phases of Perioperative care (as competency demonstrates). This care utilizes the nursing process and the standards of care of a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/ tasks may be delegated to Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Associated, Guest Associates and Anesthesia Technologists. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the RN manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Required Licensure/Certifications::
- Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- ACLS from the American Heart Association is required.
- PALS is required within 6 months from the date of hire/transfer.
Required Education: ASN/ADN or BSN
