Overview
Assists the Trauma Program Nurse Manager in monitoring process and outcome issues through the use of predefined indicators and implementation of corrective actions and loop closure. Assists the registry with concurrent data abstracting, analysis, and report development while monitoring outcomes to ensure quality and timely care. Collaborates with Trauma Program Nurse Manager, Chief of Trauma Surgery, administration, and clinical services to ensure adherence to both the Florida Trauma Program and the American College of Surgeons standards Collaborates with Chief, Trauma Surgery and Program Manager to provide clinical and systems oversight of trauma patients at UF Health that ensure provision of efficient, quality care. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of UF Health Jacksonville.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field Preferred Education: MSN or a Masters Degree in other health related field. Necessary Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Computer Literate. Excel spread sheets and Data Extraction Required Licensure/Certifications: -Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida -BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (upon hire and remain current throughout duration of position) -Effective September 1, 2024 all new hires and current employees must also obtain all of the following: -Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and or Advanced Trauma Care Nursing (ATCN) as administered by the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) within two (2) years of hire or transfer. -Complete and successfully pass the latest version of the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) and Injury Scoring Uses and Technique course as administered by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) within eighteen (18) months of hire or transfer. -Completion of an ICD-10 course within one (1) year of hire or transfer into the position, including ICD-10 refresher course every five (5) years. -Completion of the Trauma Performance Outcome and Improvement Course (TOPIC) by the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) within 1 year of hire or transfer. -Completion of a professional certification within two years from the date of hire or transfer. Required Experience: 3-5 years of critical care with emphasis on trauma. Preferred Certifications:: -CPC and/or CPHQ -Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and or Advanced Trauma Care Nursing as administered by the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) Required Experience:: 3-5 years critical care nursing with emphasis on trauma.
