Responsibilities
Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them
Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments
Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the sales department
Attend managers meetings
Assist the general sales manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the sales department
Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect sales
Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all sales employees
Direct and schedule the activities of all departments employees
Oversee the efforts of salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership
Communicate with salespeople to ensure that the dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed
Set sales and gross objectives
Guide salespeople in setting their objectives on a short- and long-range basis
Review salespeople's performances as shown on the daily sales operating control
Assist in developing programs of improvement for salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives
Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards
Conduct sales training meetings
Work with salespeople on programs that will increase the gross and increase F&I successes
Make certain each salesperson has 2 confirmed appointments daily
Qualifications
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
Two years of sales experience, supervisory experience preferred
Valid Illinois driver's license
Professional personal appearance
Excellent communication skills and a true leader
Hours
Monday through Saturday: 8:00 a.m. until close with one day off during week
