We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community. Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients.

Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, the ability to provide leadership to a group of professional staff, the ability to provide compassionate and competent care to a diverse patient population, must be able to build and maintain positive professional relationships with all hospital staff and patients, as well as demonstrate professional, effective communication skills.
Position Summary:
- Manages daily workflow and provides oversight and guidance to department staff.
- Provides support to department staff with interpretation of hospital and/or department policy.
- Assists department staff with questions about patient referals.
- Assists department staff with challenging patient admissions.
- Demonstrates leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
- Provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention for new patients.
- Assists the accepting physician by providing clinical assessments, including the history of presenting illness, family dynamics and supporting psychosocial information.
- Is the initial contact for referral sources and potential patients.
- Coordinates the referral and intake process of new patients to the hospital to include insurance pre-certification as appropriate.
- Documents pertinent information accurately, timely and legibly.
- Attends mandatory in-services and/or completes required web-based training.
- Demonstrates respect and tolerance for all patients without regard to age, gender, race, national origin, disability status, religion and/or lifestyle choice(s).
Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.
Experience:
Two years' minimum experience in behavioral health setting performing patient assessments. One year minimum management experience, in a healthcare setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Fully-licensed LCSW, LCMHC, or LMFT.
Skills:
A thorough knowledge of emotional disturbances, DSM-V-R diagnosis and the ability to quickly assess patients for their risk to themselves and others. Have the ability to deal with diverse and stressful situations in a calm manner. Must be detailed orientated with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrates the ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing. Must have good organizational and computer technical skills. Verification of absence of criminal record on local, state and federal levels.
Physical Requirements:
This job can be physically demanding requiring frequent walking and standing. Must be able and willing to walk outdoors on hospital campus setting in all weather to conduct patient assessments within the building of admission. Requires sufficient body mobility to accomplish essential functions. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel with ease. Requires walking and standing often. Requires frequently speaking on the telephone. Able to write legibly and grammatically to convey patient behavior and information in the patient chart. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Communicating fluently and effectively both verbally and in writing in English. Ability to perform CPI physical, verbal and non-verbal techniques. Ability to appropriately interact with all program staff, patients, visitors, attending physicians, and other department representatives.
