Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.
Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a Case Manager-PRN. The Case Manager will Coordinate patient care throughout the course of treatment for patients. Maintain communication system based on documentation and verbal exchange regarding treatment. Communicate with internal and external entities to facilitate acquisition of treatment authorization and resources. Contribute to discharge planning. Assists with authorizations related to discharge plan. Complete treatment plans within regulatory and licensing guidelines. Facilitate weekly utilization review meeting.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
1. Comply with all Administrative, Clinical, and Human Resources policies and procedures. Must actively support the mission, philosophy, and goals for the hospital.
2. Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues. Upon admission, communicates pertinent information to family, payer, and or external case managers.
3. Assists the treatment team in coordination of patient programs and discharge planning for each patient.
4. Maintains an awareness of funding sources needs and status, and initiates appropriate action.
5. Assists with utilization review, risk management issues and the PI outcomes and data collection.
6. Completes Master Treatment Plans (MTP) and Master Treatment Plan Reviews (MTPRs) promptly and thoroughly.
7. Assumes responsibility for own professional growth.
8. Manages outside procedure costs effectively by utilizing the OMAR system of monitoring.
9. Attends required meetings as scheduled.
10. Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, and hospital mission and philosophy.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Spanish speaking preferred. Verbal and written skills needed for communicating the patient status, and treatment needs to payers, families, professionals, paraprofessional employees of the hospital, and members of the patient's community. Able to maintain professional records and patient confidentiality and ability to maintain professional relationships with staff and patients. Knowledge of Special Treatment Procedures. Able to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
EDUCATION: Preferred LMSW. Bachelor's degree in the humanities (or related degree) or Master's degree. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued Id. Established licenses are to be maintained.
EXPERIENCE: Three years’ experience in a similar role, requiring verbal and written communication; prioritizing and addressing multiple tasks; and working with a team approach.
PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sit or stand while interacting with patients, families, and staff. Able to write/type for extended periods of time. Able to travel between various hospital areas. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions. Able to use the telephone for extended periods of time. Able to deal with stressful situations and changing priorities. Able to sustain physical activity eight hours a day.
Able to remain on feet eight hours per day. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Able to lift, carry, and lower 50 pounds without assistance. Able to push patients in wheel chairs up and down hills and pursue running patients. Able to transfer patients to and from wheel chairs. Able to confront a dangerous and aggressive patient.
Able to verbally communicate so as to de-escalate a crisis situation and accurately convey patient behavior and status. Able to visually observe so as to convey verbally or in writing patient behavior or to protect self and others from aggressive patients or other accidents.
Able to write legibly and grammatically so as to convey patient behavior and information in the patient chart. Regular and expected attendance.
