Position Summary: Responsible for reviewing patient records for completeness and accuracy to insure that the overall management of patient health information is of the highest quality and is maintained in accordance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory standards. Additionally is responsible for identifying, compiling, abstracting patient data, and coding patient data using the current standard classification systems. Also assists the Health Information Management Director in abstracting clinical information from a patient record for diagnostic code assignment and performs physician queries when necessary.
