Director of Rehabilitation Services at Corona Regional Medical Center located in Corona, Ca.
Supports and empowers the staff to embrace the mission and value statements of the organization. Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, and administration. Assists with the coordination and direction of patient care to ensure that all patient needs are met and that all hospital policies are followed. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and functions well under stressful situations. Studies current trends and developments in their field through current literature and research. Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions. Assists with direct supervision of all services and operations within the department. Arranges staff training and education regarding clinical issues. Assists with staff scheduling for the department following appropriate utilization guidelines. Prepares reports for departmental Quality Assurance meetings in a timely manner.
Organizes daily work schedule while allowing for appropriate amounts of time for preparation and completion of tasks. Coordinates and assesses schedule with other staff members throughout the workday. Accurately develops the work schedule for support staff to ensure maximum departmental efficiency and to allow for clinical focus by the staff. Adapts the pace of work to accommodate the customer needs. Demonstrates an ability to establish and implement treatment priorities. Exhibits the ability to coordinate simultaneous activities without affecting the quality of work. Adjusts personal schedule when requested in accordance to the needs of the department and the patient load. Consistently reports to work in a timely and ready to work manner. Provides proper notification and advance notice for absence or tardiness. Ensures that services are provided in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. Strives to provide an exceedingly high quality of care and services to all CRMC customers.
At a minimum, the department operates within stated budget guidelines as measured by the specific unit of service, with the goal of exceeding budget projections.
Effectively controls department costs and prepares for fluctuations and unexpected costs. Identifies cost reduction opportunities on a regular basis and recommends implementation when necessary.
Participates in the selection of vendors for needed services not otherwise prescribed; anticipates and budgets capital equipment following the policy while seeking to identify alternatives to capital purchasing.
The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
- Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of physical therapy modalities prescribed by a licensed physician.
- Administers treatments and physical agents in an effort to restore function and to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.
- Supervises Physical Therapists and Therapist Assistants.
- Develops self in a professional manner and participates in departmental operations and development.
- Able to supervise and direct student interns.
- Maintains a professional image and demeanor.
- Adjusts and adapts to frequent change, new concepts, and ideas with a positive and investigative approach.
- Demonstrates flexibility.
- Stays abreast of current technologies.

- Knowledge of current JCAHO and other regulatory standards and requirements.

- Familiar with DHS, and State and Federal rules and regulations.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years experience in field of physical therapy.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience in a related department with duties that involved increasing responsibilities.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Completion of Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
- Current California license or eligible.
- BLS Certification
